Seeds Early Rise

The ASB Classic main draw will get off to a cracking start on Monday morning with some of the tournament's biggest drawcards featuring early on centre court.
Third-seeded wild card Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium, whose participation was subject to considerable doubt after her brush with drug-testing authorities, will open proceedings with a clash against world No 77 Julia Goerges of Germany. This rivalry currently stands at 1-1 with Goerges winning the last encounter on hard court at Luxembourg in 2007.
Top seed Flavia Pennetta (Italy) meets American Jill Craybas in the second match on centre court - Pennetta enjoys a 2-0 lifetime edge over her opponent - then doubles favourites Cara Black of Zimbabwe and Liezel Huber of the USA try to eliminate local favourite Marin Erakovic and Slovenian partner Polona Hercog.
Seventh and eighth-seeded Aravane Rezai (France) and Anabel Medina Garrigues (Spain) face Julie Coin (France) and Magdalena Rybarikova (Slovenia) respectively in the evening session, starting no earlier than 7.30pm.
The final four qualifiers will also be found on Monday and they will play their opening rounds in the main draw on Tuesday.
