Top seed Flavia Pennetta contined to live up to her billing, advancing to the singles semifinals at the ASB Classic.
The flambuoyant Italian dished up five aces and her service was never threatened in an overwhelming 6-1 6-2 result over Slovak Dominika Cibulkova in today''s KIA Motors Singles quarterfinal.
Pennetta has so far lost only 13 games over three matches in reaching the semis.
She now awaits the winner of this evening''s final QF clash between doubles partner Francesca Schiavone and Frenchwoman Alize Cornet.
