Top 20 player Yanina Wickmayer looks set to fight a ban which could keep her from the 2010 ASB Classic
Belgian tennis player Yanina Wickmayer who was entered in the 2010 ASB Classic has been the subject of a ban by Belgian Anti Doping authorities.
The world No16 did not comply with the ‘whereabouts’ rule nominating where she would be around the world at certain times and dates. She was handed a one year ban as a result and therefore it is unlikely she will play in the January 4-9 ASB Classic.
Wickmayer, 20 who reached the semifinals of the 2009 US Open is able to appeal the ban, however the outcome of this may not be clear in time for her to play in Auckland
