The sun is shining for the semifinals in Auckland as we get set for a great day of tennis.

First up on centre court is the last German standing, Angelique Kerber, taking on Italian Flavia Pennetta. The two last met in the 2011 US Open quarterfinals, a match Kerber won in three sets. Pennetta hasn't dropped a set so far this week and is also still in the doubles with partner Julia Goerges.

The second semifinal features another player yet to drop a set this week: Svetlana Kuznetsova. The Russian has been in fine form and is the highest seed remaining. She'll face China's Zheng Jie who has coasted in her last two rounds.

The doubles semifinals feature Pennetta/Goerges against the #2 seeds Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina followed by the top seeds and defending champions Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik. The reigning Wimbledon champions face off against the reigning French Open champions Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic.
