Qualifying tourney set for the weekend

Live tennis in Auckland is nearly underway as the 2012 ASB Classic qualifying tournament starts this Saturday, 31 December.
Twenty-eight players will compete in the qualifying rounds, with four gaining entry into the main draw, which starts on 2 January at the ASB Tennis Arena.
Tickets to the qualifying rounds cost just $5 (cash only) and gates open fro 9am on Saturday. Play begins at 9.30am.
The final list of players competing in qualifying and the draw will be released today (30 December).
The qualifying tournament continues on Sunday.
