Top seeds win doubles crown
Oliver Marach and Alexander Peya of Austria are the 2012 Heineken Open doubles winners.
The top seeds won with ease today against Frantisek Cermak of the Czech Republic and his partner Filip Polasek of Slovakia 6-3 6-2. The Austrian duo didn't drop a set throughout the tournament and they won Saturday's final in just over an hour.
The team attributed their win to dominating on serve, both in the final and all week long. They were thrilled to get a win after Marach was injured in late 2011 and said the Heineken Open was great preparation for their Australian Open.
Cermak and Polasek, seeded third, were coming off a strong 2011 season together. They reached six finals and won three tournaments together (Moscow, Gstaad and Belgrade) last season.
The Austrians had ended the great run of Kiwis Dan King-Turner and Michael Venus on Friday night to make the final.
