After a strong 2010, Julia Goerges continued her rise up the rankings moving from 40 at the end of 2010 to a career high 16 last year.

A semifinalist in Auckland, the German went on to win her second WTA title at home in Stuttgart in April beating Sam Stosur and Caroline Wozniacki on the way.

She made her debut in the top 20 in May and reached the third round in all four Grand Slams last year.
Goerges has three doubles titles and last year made two doubles finals in Bad Gastein and Linz.
