Bouchard Magic on Day One of the ASB Classic

What a way to kick off the 2019 ASB Classic with a raft of stars taking to court.

First to take to centre court will be Rio Olympic Gold Medallist Monica Puig who faces off against wildcard and former doubles world number one Bethanie Mattek-Sands.  That match will be closely followed by Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard against Madison Brengle, who at 88 in the world is just one spot behind the Wimbledon finalist.

Ticket holders are then in for a treat with 2018 ASB Classic singles champion Julia Goerges who is teaming up with Timea Babos to play their first round of doubles against Kiwi Erin Routliffe and her partner Alexa Guarachi from Chile. What better way to ring in the new year!

Tennis fans will also see former champion Lauren Davis in action on Grandstand court in her first-round singles match against Lara Arruabarrena from Spain.

Kiwi teens Valentina Ivanov and Elys Ventura will also play tomorrow on Grandstand court against fellow kiwi Paige Hourigan and her partner American Taylor Townsend. This match up guarantees a Kiwi will advance to the second round.

The full order of play for Monday 31 December is available at asblcassic.co.nz

Tomorrow’s twilight session kicks off at 3pm with tickets available from Ticketek.co.nz. Matches on Grandstand and Court 2 are accessible to all ticket holders, including Ground Passes which are available from just $15.
