Kiwi Paige Hourigan flying high

New Zealand number one Paige Hourigan is through to the semi-final of the doubles at the ASB Classic. Hourigan with her partner American Taylor Townsend hung tough in their quarter-final match against Australian duo Monique Adamczak and Jessica Moore.

The Aussies dominated the initial stages of the match, winning the first set 3-6 but Hourigan and Townsend composed themselves and pulled away quickly in the second set, winning that easily and setting up the super tie breaker to finish.  The match continued to seesaw but with the home crowd support and experienced partner, the Kiwi girl got over the line. The final score 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 and confirming our local girl through to the semi-finals.
